Hav is a four-year-old boy from Cambodia. He is the only child in his family and currently lives with his grandmother, who is a rice farmer. Because of financial difficulties, his parents have moved to the city to find construction work. He enjoys playing with toys with his cousins, and his favorite foods are fried pork and eggs. Around May 2026, Hav suffered an electric burn to his left hand. Although the wound healed with basic wound care, scar tissue gradually formed and tightened around his left ring finger. The scar contracture has tightened the skin around his left ring finger, making it difficult for him to fully straighten and move the finger. This can also make it harder for him to use his hand comfortably while playing and during other everyday activities. When Hav's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), they traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On September 17th, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to address the scar that is restricting his ring finger, helping him move it more naturally. Better finger movement can support his ability to play, explore, and use his hand as he grows. Now, he needs help to fund this $652 procedure. Hav's grandmother said, “I hope the surgery will help my grandson move and straighten his finger more easily. He is still very young, and I hope he can use his hand comfortably as he grows, plays, and learns.”

Mi is a 67-year-old moto repairman from Cambodia. He is married and lives with his wife, who takes care of the household. They have six children, all of whom are married and live in a nearby village. They visit their parents from time to time. In his free time, Mi enjoys looking after his cows and chickens. In December 2025, Mi was involved in a traffic accident between two motorbikes, which left him with a fracture in his left hip. He initially sought traditional treatment for six months, but his condition did not improve. Since then, he has continued to experience hip pain and difficulty walking. He now relies on crutches for support and struggles to put weight on his left leg. Because of the injury, he has been unable to return to his moto repair work and earn a living. After a friend recommended Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), Mi decided to seek further treatment. On November 2nd, doctors will perform a total hip replacement (THR) on his left hip to relieve his pain and improve his mobility. Mi and his family can contribute $50 and need support for the remaining $1,450. Mi said, “I hope the surgery will help me walk normally again without needing crutches. I have been unable to work since the accident, and I want to recover so I can return to fixing tires and support my family.”

Wai is a 29-year-old woman from Burma. She and her husband are farm workers. They have a six-year-old son who attends school. The family moved from Burma to Thailand in search of better job opportunities. On October 18th, 2026, Wai and her son were walking to their local village market to buy vegetables when a motorcycle struck them from behind. The driver was drunk and lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into Wai and her son. Wai protected her son with her body, taking the main impact. Her son only got minor bruises and did not require medical attention. Wai has a fracture in her thigh. She cannot move her leg and relies on her husband for help with all daily tasks. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF), Wai will undergo surgery to reset her fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for November 2nd and will help Wai walk again. Wai needs help raising $1,500 to help fund her treatment and care. Wai said, "I am so happy and want to thank the donors. Life is already difficult, but this support makes it worth it. Our family feels incredibly lucky that BCMF and the donors are willing to help. Without the organization's help, I could not afford the surgery, and I would be unable to work. Thank you!"
