Joan is a peasant farmer from Uganda. She is married, and together with her husband, they have one child. They farm in their small piece of land given to them by the husband’s parents. She did not attend school at all, and neither did her husband. Their incomes are too little to make ends meet. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family..
She is currently expecting a new baby. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section because placenta previa. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Joan undergo a C-Section on January 16. This procedure will cost $241, and Joan needs your support.

Joan underwent a safe C-section delivery.
Joan underwent a successful Caesarean section due to a high-risk pregnancy and delivered a baby girl. As her baby needed to be monitored, both Joan and her daughter were transferred to another hospital that could provide intensive neonatal services.
Joan says, “I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the health workers at Rwibaale. They treated me with love and kindness. I thank the donors who helped me financially. May the good Lord bless you with good health. After recovery, I will resume my duties of farming and take good care of my children.”
