Soveath is a 43-year-old ice cream seller from Cambodia. He lives in Kampot province with his wife and two children. To support the family, Soveath runs a small stall in the local market selling ice cream. In his free time, he enjoys watching the news on his phone and planting vegetables around the family’s home.
Six years ago, Soveath was in a traffic accident that caused a wound on his left foot. Despite multiple treatments at various hospitals and clinics, the wound has worsened, affecting his ability to walk and work. He is in chronic pain and unable to walk long distances, which limits his ability to carry out his daily tasks. Soveath has been experiencing pain and persistent infection, and his doctors recommend an amputation of his left foot to prevent symptoms from getting worse.
Soveath will undergo surgery on September 11th with the help of our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. He can contribute $50 but needs help to raise $538 more for his procedure and care. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Soveath said, “After the surgery, I hope that I will no longer have pain, so I can do my job and take care of my family.”
