Miracle is a six year old boy - the third of four siblings who attend primary school. He resides with his grandparents and enjoys reading books. Miracle says he prefers chips over other food! His mother operates a small-scale business selling second-hand clothes and cannot generate enough money to fund her son’s surgery. His father is a vehicle mechanic; however, he earns little money due to expenditures. His family have rented a single-roomed house.
For one month, Miracle has had a right inguinal hernia. The swelling has been increasing in size. Miracle finds moving from one place to another challenging, even for short distances. His mother is concerned about how her son will return to school with this condition. He often cries throughout the day during its onset due to pain and discomfort. If not treated, he could develop a strangulated hernia.
Miracle has never been taken to the hospital for treatment due to a lack of enough money, but when the condition worsened, his mother decided to bring him to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, on January 23rd, he will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $230 to fund Miracle’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Miracle’s mother says, “I will be grateful if I get support for the surgery of my son so that he can be able to resume school and I continue with my business.”
