Shem is a cheerful ten-month-old baby boy from Kenya. He spends most of his time with his grandmother. Shem’s mother is a nursing student, and his father works hard selling newspapers in a small town in Rift Valley Province.
Shem has been diagnosed with a lower abdominal condition that causes discomfort and can be fatal. Herbal medicine has not improved his condition. Doctors have recommended surgery to reduce his current health risks and improve his quality of life.
On April 28, Shem will undergo surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $384 to fund Shem’s medical care. Shem’s family was able to raise $82 to contribute to their son’s treatment.
