Lemani is a farmer from Malawi. Lemoni lives with his wife, and they have seven children and ten grandchildren. Lemoni spends his days working his land and tending his small goat herd. When he has free time, he likes to attend his local church with his family.
Since December 2017, Lemani has been experiencing pain and urinary difficulty. These symptoms are caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition called benign prostatic hyperplasia. He needs to undergo a prostate resection surgery, a procedure in which surgeons will remove part of the enlarged gland.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to fund Lemani’s surgery. On January 16, he will undergo prostate surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and two weeks of hospital stay. Lemoni and his family were very happy to find out that his procedure would be funded, as the cost of the surgery was much more than they could afford.
He says, “Thank you, Watsi, for helping me.”
