Fausta is a farmer from Uganda. She is married and a mother of ten children. Her first child is 26-years-old, while the rest are still in primary and secondary school. Fausta and her husband practice farming to earn income and sustain their family.
For six years, Fausta has been experiencing lower abdominal pain, backaches, and other worrisome symptoms. The condition has caused her difficulty performing her daily roles and, if left untreated, the symptoms and discomfort she is experiencing will continue to worsen. Doctors diagnosed her condition as a premalignant cervical lesion. Fausta needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Fortunately, Fausta will receive treatment at our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH). On December 28th, she will undergo gynecological surgery at the care center. Once recovered, she will resume her daily activities free of pain. AMH is requesting $219 to fund Fausta’s procedure.
Fausta shared, “This condition has caused me a lot of pain. At some point, I almost gave up as I could not afford the treatment. I hope I will get my life back after treatment.”
