Tevy is a two-year-old girl and the middle child among three siblings. Her father sells groceries at home, while her mother works in a local bank. Tevy enjoys playing with dolls and likes to eat fried eggs with rice.
Four months ago, Tevy had fleas on her head, resulting in several abscesses. Despite receiving medication from a public hospital in Phnom Penh, one large abscess persists. She experiences pain, redness, and swelling on her scalp, causing her parents to worry that the abscess might grow in size and cause even more pain and problems.
Tevy and her parents sought help from our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. On August 30th, Tevy will undergo an Incision and Drainage of the abscess on her scalp and they need help to raise $391 to fund the procedure. This will cover, surgery, medicines, and post-operative care. It will allow her to relieve the pain, reduce the swelling, and prevent the abscess from growing larger.
Tevy’s parents said, “We hope that she will have no more pain, and the infection will not affect her brain. We want her to live a happy, healthy life in the future.”
