As much as Shilari loves to play and be active with his siblings and friends, the malalignment of his leg from an old knee fracture makes this difficult for him. Shilari received surgery to realign his leg and fix his gait.
The corrective osteotomy with plating was a great success! Shilari is currently wearing a long leg cast while he waits for the wound to heal completely. After the casting, he will do physical exercises to strengthen the leg. Even though he hasn’t seen his leg without the cast, the fact that it looks straight makes him very happy!
“Thank you, Watsi!” Shilari says, “I am eager to see my leg and can’t wait to go back to school!”
