Srey Pov is a 28-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. She has one daughter, and enjoys watching television in her free time.
When she was fourteen years old, Srey Pov had an ear infection. This infection caused the tympanic membrane, or the ear drum, in her right ear to perforate. For this reason, Srey Pov experiences discharge, pain, hearing loss, and tinnitus. She cannot communicate clearly with others and she often experiences discomfort.
Srey Pov traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On November 19, she will undergo a myringoplasty procedure in her right ear. During this procedure, surgeons will close the perforation. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $423 to fund this procedure. This covers medications, supplies, and inpatient care.
“I hope that after surgery, my wife will be able to hear clearly again and I will not have to worry about her ears being infected.” -Srey Pov’s Husband
