Meet Samuel, a 14-year-old boy from Kenya. He lives with his mom, a housewife, and his dad, a driver for a milk processing company. Samuel has a brain tumor which causes severe headaches and difficulty walking.
“Samuel is a bright and joyous young man but his condition is slowly dimming his joy.” Our Kenyan medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF) tells us, “Samuel cleared his primary school level final exams last month with a lot of difficulty. The second-born in a family of four children had headaches on and off during the examination period. His perseverance saw him finish the exams.”
Samuel says, “I look forward to joining high school, and I pray that my treatment goes on well.” This treatment will include an urgently needed surgery. AMHF explains without treatment, “Samuel is likely to develop increased intracranial pressure, which may eventually lead to brain damage and even death.”
Help us raise $1,260 for a craniotomy, a surgery to relieve pressure on Samuel’s brain. Doctors at AMHF expect the surgery to end the severe headaches Samuel experiences, and allow him to fully focus on his studies.
