Daria came to the hospital with lower abdominal pain and bleeding that has been persistent for the last four years. She has general weakness and is not able to carry anything heavy with her head and hands like before. She is a farmer who relies on her small piece of land to make ends meet.
Daria has not been able to seek medical care due to financial constraints, but is now hopeful that she can undergo treatment that will help her to feel like herself again. When she came to Nyakibale Hospital for review, doctors diagnosed a premalignant cervical lesion and uterine prolapse. She requires surgery but is still afraid of the cost implication.
Daria is married and has 11 living children, but they are also trying to make ends meet and cannot offer financial support.
Daria says: “I have been in a critical condition that doesn’t favor me to be happy like others but I hope that through your support, I will be to live a healthier life once again.”
