Ayele is 56 years old and a father of two from Ethiopia. He shines shoes to support his family. However, he has not been able to work consistently because of his health.
One year ago, Ayele started experiencing troubling symptoms. He was diagnosed with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), an enlargement of the prostate gland. Physicians inserted a catheter to help him, but they recommend he undergo surgery to prevent his symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $900 to fund the procedure. The treatment is scheduled to take place on August 15th and, once completed, will improve Ayele’s quality of life.
Ayele shared, “I hope to recover my health and return to work. That way, I can support my family and send my children back to school.”
