Getu is a farmer from Uganda. She is a mother to 6 children. Her elder son is a teacher; the rest are still studying. Her husband farms with her, growing crops like tomatoes and cabbages for sale.
Getu presented with swelling on her left wrist, which she has had for a year. The swelling causes her needles and pins, paralysis, and painful touch such that she can’t even hold anything or cultivate, yet farming was her only source of income.
Getu traveled to our medical partner’s care center to have her wrist checked. Doctors found a mass and scheduled her surgery for March 5th to remove the mass. Now, Getu needs help to raise $137 to fund this procedure.
Getu says, “I am looking forward to having a complete recovery and being in good health once I am given a chance to be operated on. Hopefully, I will get better and continue farming.”
