Sen is a 38-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. He lives in Kampong Thom province. He lives with his divorced mother, who is also a rice farmer. He has one older brother who works in construction and one younger sister who works in a clothing factory. During his free time, he enjoys listening to music and watching the news on the internet.
Six months ago, Sen was hit by a car, which caused a severe right leg injury and left him unable to walk. He was taken to a provincial hospital, where doctors performed surgery and fixed his fracture with a locking nail. Since the injury, Sen has been unable to walk due to an Achilles tendon contracture and chronic infection. He is in pain, which limits his independence and ability to work in the rice paddies. He needs to undergo a tendon and nerve repair procedure to help regain strength and mobility.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is helping Sen receive treatment. He is scheduled to undergo the tendon and nerve repair procedure on September 2nd. This procedure will cost $701, and Sen and his family need your support. He is able to contribute $50 to his care, but needs help to raise $651 more.
Sen’s mother said: “After the surgery, I hope that my son will be able to walk and will no longer have any pain.”
