Assumpta is a 25-year-old, small-scale farmer. She was in school up to secondary school class four, but had to leave because she did not receive the necessary financial support from her parents. Her husband works as a boda boda taxi driver, transporting goods around their village.
Assumpta is currently expecting her first child. Because of a severe case of oligohydramnios - insufficient amniotic fluid, which is crucial to the health of the baby - her doctors are recommending that she deliver via a Caesarean section, to ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Assumpta undergo a C-section on July 14th, at Rushoroza Hospital. This procedure will cost $214, and Assumpta is looking to you for support.
Assumpta says: “I pray for a successful surgery. I will continue with farming after complete recovery.”
