Bros is a 12-year-old boy from Cambodia. He lives with his parents and four siblings. He enjoys reading his school books and watching football on TV.
On January 4, 2017, Bros was driving his motorbike to school when he swerved and fell on his left side, sustaining a fracture in his left femur. After learning about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), Bros traveled with his mother to our medical partner’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre.
On February 7, Bros will undergo an open reduction internal fixation procedure, which will reset his fractured leg. Our medical partner is asking for $411 to cover the cost of physician, hospital, and medication fees.
After surgery, Bros will be able to walk again!

Bros underwent fracture repair.
Surgeons at CSC removed callus (bony tissue that forms around the ends of broken bone) from the fracture site and then fixated two pins to stabilize his bones. Following the procedure, he was instructed to keep his left leg elevated, and a knee splint was applied for support. He had one week of physiotherapy at CSC before being discharged. His wound has healed nicely, and he does not experience pain. Bros is now able to walk more easily than before.
Bros says, “I am happy that I had the surgery. Now I can walk properly, and I can do things by myself again.”
