When ten-year-old Chy isn’t working hard in his fourth grade classes, he likes to play football and read books. A native of Cambodia, he has two sisters and two brothers.
Chy has developed a hemangioma, a noncancerous growth, in his upper lip. The growth causes him pain and makes it hard for him to drink and eat. He and his mother traveled for four hours to reach our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, where his doctors determined that removing the growth will make Chy’s mouth pain-free again.
To accomplish this, Chy will undergo surgery on March 13. While his family does not have the means to pay for the procedure, we can help. For $224, we can sponsor his operation, as well as the tests and week-long hospital stay Chy will need to recover safely.
Let’s make sure Chy heals quickly so that he can focus on his studies, his siblings, and football.
