Nigomugisha is a second-hand clothes trader and a mother of three children. She studied up to primary school but left due to limited fees at home. Nigomugisha’s husband does temporary jobs around the village to make ends meet for their family. All her children are in school and they find it challenging to raise school fees for them.
Seven years ago, Nigomgisha developed a small swelling that has been increasing in size over the years. Due to the swell, she cannot wear her usual clothes and the swell becomes itchy and uncomfortable.
Nigomugisha had not been to any hospitals before, but her friend referred her to our medical partner’s care center, Rushoroza Hospital. On August 3rd, surgeons will remove the mass. She was reviewed and surgery was recommended. With successful surgery, she will lead a more comfortable life especially in public. Thus, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $145 to fund this procedure.
Nigomugisha shared how difficult it has been for her, “I am helpless and in discomfort. I pray that I may be considered for treatment so that I can live a normal life again where I can comfortably do my business and continue to support my family.”
