Ocama, who lives in the Yumbe district of Uganda, is a 65-year-old farmer and father of seven.
Six years ago, Ocama began to experience generalized body pain and weakness in his legs. He also had abdominal discomfort. He went to the nearby hospital, where an assessment was done. Ocama was diagnosed with a hernia, but he was unable to afford the treatment that was recommended.
Ocama gave up and started taking local herbs, which temporarily eased some of his discomfort. He learned about our medical partner and sought treatment. On September 7th, Ocama will undergo hernia repair surgery at Yumbe Regional Referral Hospital. Our medical partner, Hope Health Action, is requesting $605 to fund Ocama’s procedure. Once completed, Ocama will hopefully live a healthier life.
Ocama said, “Thank you to HHA and the donors for the support they have given me. I hope I can work again after treatment.”
