Yosefe is a farmer from Central Malawi. He lives with his wife, near their seven children and seven grandchildren. When he isn’t farming, Yosefe collects firewood and loves spending time with his family.
Five months ago, Yosefe started experiencing pain due to an inguinal hernia–a condition easily treated surgically. However, his family does not have the financial means to pay for this surgery.
Yosefe has been unable to work during these months, which has put a strain on his family. He is not afraid to have the surgery, just eager to feel better.
In his pre-operative appointment, Yosefe shared: “I am happy to receive the surgery.”

Yosefe successfully received hernia repair surgery.
Yosefe’s surgery was a success! He is recovering well and feeling very happy. Yosefe and his family are relieved that the procedure is over, and eager for him to be back home. He is looking forward to returning to his farm.
