Leang Him is a 36-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. She is married and is a mother of three sons and three daughters. In her free time, she likes to cook for her family, relax at home, and watch TV.
A few months ago, Leang Him sustained an electricity burn on her right shoulder, right arm, and both her feet. She received treatment from a local hospital, but her symptoms did not improve. Thus, she traveled to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), where surgeons performed a debridement procedure that removed damaged and infected tissue from her right forearm and left foot.
She has returned to CSC for a follow-up procedure. Surgeons will perform a skin flap procedure on her left ankle, which will heal her wound and relieve her of pain. The surgery is scheduled for March 1, and CSC is requesting $450 to fund the treatment.
