Mornica is a farmer who grows maize, beans, and local vegetables. Her husband works on other people’s farms to pay their children’s school fees.
Mornica is expecting a new baby in just a few weeks. The pregnancy has been difficult, Mornica says. “I feel abdominal pain during evening hours after working in the field,” but “I am happy with the maternal child health workers who work in this community and I pray for safe delivery in a health facility.”
Most women in Mornica’s community don’t have access to maternal care. Complications during delivery are the number one killer of expecting mothers in the developing world. But with our support, Mornica will be able to give birth in a clean, safe place with the support of skilled attendants.
