Tereni is a shy two-year-old boy from Tanzania. The youngest in a family of five children, he is very quiet, just taking in the world around him. He loves to explore, but a burn scar contracture on his ankle (area of tightened skin after severe burns) is restricting his range of motion and stunting his physical development.
Tereni’s mother and father are pastoralists whose income is volatile due to difficulty finding grazing areas for their cattle. With four daughters, Tereni’s parents have high hopes that their only son will be able to help them look after the cattle when he gets older.
If left untreated, Tereni will have a lot of trouble learning to walk and will likely never be able to contribute to his family’s livelihood. Let’s raise the $1,080 needed for a contracture release and skin graft surgery to help this young boy get on his feet!
