Kakada is a three-year-old girl from Cambodia. She is an only child, and enjoys playing with her toys and watching television in her free time.
Three months ago, Kakada burned both her hands on hot charcoal. The burns have left her hand disfigured and she is unable to flex or extend her fingers.
When Kakada’s family learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, they traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On August 2, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to help to release the skin near the burn site, allowing her to move her fingers without difficulty. Now, she needs help to fund this $448 procedure.
She says, “I hope that after surgery, I will no longer have to worry about my daughter’s condition and she will be able to move her hands normally.”
