Abush is a resourceful eleven year-old Ethiopian boy. Four months ago, Abush’s leg began to swell, causing him great pain and leaving him unable to walk or attend school. As his condition worsened, he traveled to an orthopedic clinic with his father. At that point they discovered his infection had spread to the bone.
Abush lives with his father, mother and three siblings on a farm where his father grows corn and beans. In his spare time, Abush enjoys helping his neighbors tend to their cattle. After treatment, Abush wants to go back to school and hopes to study science.
Abush needs a bone debridement surgery, long-term antibiotics and nutritional support to ensure a healthy recovery and rehabilitation. Africa Mission Healthcare Foundation is seeking $745 for treatment, which will enable Abush to return to school with his friends.
