Olipa is a 64-year-old woman who works as a farmer in Malawi’s Central Region. She lives with her husband, and together they have three children and three grandchildren.
Since 2016, Olipa has been bothered by an ovarian cyst that has caused her to experience pain and abnormal bleeding.
On July 20, surgeons at our medical partner’s care center, Nkhoma Hospital, will perform a hysterectomy procedure to remove the cyst. The $650 requested to fund Olipa’s treatment will cover the full cost of the procedure, including a seven-night hospital stay, labs, medication, transport, and surgeon consultation. Olipa is very grateful for the support from Watsi so that she can have this procedure.
