Oscar is a 37-year-old man from Guatemala. He lives with his wife and two sons in the country’s rural highlands. When not working his job at a pharmacy, Oscar loves hanging out and playing with his children.
A year ago, Oscar began having issues with his vision, but has not been able to afford a doctor’s visit in order to get her eyes checked. A month ago, Oscar was able to go to a local clinic and receive an eye exam as well as a prescription for new eyeglasses.
Our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kawoq, is requesting $552 to cover the cost of Oscar’s new glasses. He is scheduled to receive his new prescription on June 9 at our medical partner’s care center, Intituto Panamericano.
“This support is of great help to my family,” Oscar says. “Because it is not possible for us to go to doctors appointments with the economic state in which we live right now.”
