Nay is a 13-year-old student from Burma. Nay lives with his grandmother, aunt, and brother, while his parents work in Thailand. In his free time, Nay enjoys playing football with his friends. On August 31st, 2024, Nay accidentally fell while playing with his friends. He fractured his right forearm and now experiences pain and swelling. Due to the bandage applied for stabilization and the pain, Nay has limited mobility on his forearm. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, Nay will undergo surgery to reset his fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for September 5th and will cost $1,500. The surgery will help restore the full use of his forearm. Nay expressed his gratitude saying, “Thank you, Watsi, for your help. May God bless you. I want to become a professional footballer when I grow older.”

Khuon is a 71-year-old rice farmer from Kandal province, who lives with his wife who sells Khmer cakes in local market. They have four sons, five daughters and 13 grandchildren. In his free time, Khoun likes going to the pagoda and visiting his grandchildren. One week ago, his left eye was hit by a flying wood chip. Khuon developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him pain, tearing, and blurry vision. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye, so it is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so he is not able to go places on his own. When Khuon learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On August 2nd, doctors will perform intra-capsular cataract extraction (ICCE), corneal wound repair, and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Khuon was able to contribute $50 towards his medical care but needs help raising the remaining $203 in funds. Khuon said: "I hope after surgery I can see better and I can help my wife make Khmer cakes."

Geigwa is a seven-month-old baby and the youngest of four children from Tanzania. Her parents are farmers who rely on seasonal crop cultivation, primarily maize and rice, for their livelihood. Geigwa’s parents work on the farm to ensure a good harvest. Geigwa was born with clubfoot on her right foot, where her leg is twisted inward and downward. While this condition doesn’t cause issues at the moment, it will affect her ability to crawl, stand, and walk as she grows. Additionally, she will struggle to wear shoes comfortably. Geigwa needs clubfoot correction treatment to address this condition. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $341 to fund the necessary treatment for Geigwa's condition. With this treatment, Geigwa will be able to avoid a painful future affected by her condition if it remains untreated. Geigwa’s mother says, “Please help my daughter, we hope she will grow up to be active and healthy."
