Fausta is a peasant farmer from Uganda. Fausta visited our facility with complaints of backache and vaginal spotting persistent for the past two years. Before coming to our facility, Fausta had tried treating herself without success. While at our facility, she was diagnosed with a cervical polyp and intraepithelial neoplasia. As part of the treatment, the doctor recommended a hysterectomy. Unfortunately, Fausta is not able to raise the funds needed for the surgery.
Fausta is a peasant farmer in the village. Her income is only sufficient to meet their basic needs. Her two children could not proceed with their education citing lack of school fees. Fausta who lost her husband is not able to consolidate sufficient funds for her surgery. Her two sons are not in any formal employment further limiting their ability to support their mother. Fausta is not able to tend to her farm due to continued backaches. With successful surgery, she will continue farming and making ends meet for herself and her family.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $208 to fund Fausta’s surgery. On November 14, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner’s care center. Once recovered, Fausta will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Fausta says, “Having heard of how other people have succeed through this program am sure I will also be fine after surgery and go on with cultivation.”
