Dara is a 34-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He is from Svay Rieng province, near the border with Vietnam, where he lives with his wife and 10-year-old daughter. His daughter is in third grade, and his wife works with him at a nearby construction site. During his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball with his friends in the village.
Three months ago, while working, Dara was involved in an accident. A roofing tile fell from the third floor and cut his right hand while he was on the ground floor. He received treatment to repair the wound at a referral hospital in Svay Rieng. After some time, he realized his wrist was dropped and weak. When he went for a follow-up, the doctors there recommended he go to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). Now, he hopes for better use of his wrist and hand to improve his ability to work and support his family. He needs to undergo a tendon and nerve repair procedure to help regain strength and mobility.
On September 8th, Dara will undergo surgery. He can contribute $50, but needs help to raise $651 to fund his procedure and care.
Dara shared, “I hope I can have surgery to help use my hand again so I can return to work and support my family.”
