Rattana is 27 years old and lives in Cambodia, he enjoys playing football and watching boxing on TV.
Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC) shares that Rattana was born with a meningoencephalocele (MEC), which is a herniation of brain tissue into the sinus. Although Rattana received treatment for the condition when he was two years old, it was not sufficient to remedy the herniation.
“Rattana travelled five hours so he can finally be fully treated for his condition,” CSC shares. “Rattana is happy to be getting treatment.”
For $390, Rattana will undergo MEC repair surgery. This operation will remove the herniated brain tissue from Rattana’s sinus and surgically close the hole between his skull and sinus cavity.
CSC says, “Rattana’s MEC repair surgery will allow him to return home and go back to work to support himself and his family.”
