Mon is a 47-year-old police officer from Cambodia. He is married and lives with his wife, who is a pepper farmer, and their three children. Their eldest child is in Grade 7, the second child is in Grade 5, and the youngest attends kindergarten. In his free time, he helps his wife with farming and enjoys looking after his children. On May 31st, 2026, Mon slipped and fell from his motorbike. The accident caused a fracture-dislocation of the left navicular bone and non-displaced fractures of the left third and fourth metatarsal bones in his foot. After the injury, he visited a local hospital, where he was examined and given medication. At that time, he was informed that there was no fracture. However, his condition did not improve, and the pain persisted. He later underwent an X-ray at the provincial hospital, which revealed a fracture in his left foot. Unfortunately, the hospital did not have the necessary equipment and resources to provide the required treatment, so he was referred for further orthopedic care. Since the injury, he has experienced significant pain in his left foot, especially when walking. The injury has made it difficult for him to move around, work as a police officer, and carry out his daily responsibilities at home and in the community. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On June 12th, Mon will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will stabilize the fractured bone, promote proper healing, and reduce pain. This treatment will help him regain mobility, walk more comfortably, return to work, and resume caring for his family. He can contribute $75, but needs help raising $525 more to fund his procedure and care. Mon said, “I hope this surgery will help me recover from my injury, walk comfortably again, and return to my normal life. Thank you to everyone supporting my treatment.”
