Srun is a 71-year-old mother from Cambodia. She has one son, and enjoys spending time at the pagoda and listening to the monks pray on the radio.
Two years ago, Srun developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her tearing and blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Srun learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours seeking treatment. On December 12th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
“I hope that I will be able to return to my meditation and help clean at the pagoda,” she shared.
