Goodness is a 23-year-old farmer from rural Uganda. She grows corn, beans, cassava, and yams to feed her family. During her free time, she likes to sing and praise God. She is also an excellent weaver who makes mats that she uses at her home or gives to her friends. Her husband is a carpenter.
Goodness visited our medical partner when she was expecting her third child. Her two previous babies were delivered by C-section, so her doctors recommended another C-section. On December 7, Goodness checked into the hospital to await delivery.
$258 pays for surgery for Goodness as well as five days in the hospital, an ultrasound, lab tests, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Goodness is contributing $8 to cover additional costs associated with her care.
Goodness looks forward to nursing her child. She plans to return to her community and resume farming.
“I thank God that there are people who through the Watsi program are supporting us,” says Goodness. “May God bless you abundantly.”
