Muon is a 78-year-old farmer from Cambodia. She is married with two sons and four daughters. She enjoys staying at home and cooking food for her family.
Seven months ago, Muon noticed a small black and green mass on her upper right eyelid. The mass began getting bigger and Muon now experiences severe pain. The mass completely obstructs vision from her right eye and is painful to touch. Muon’s right eye is completely functional, but due to the growth she is unable to open her eyelid.
In order to seek treatment Muon and her family traveled three hours to reach our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). CSC doctors determined that the growth needs to be removed, but Muon is unable to afford the surgery.
For $99 surgeons at CSC will perform an excision and a forehead flap surgery to remove the mass and help heal the skin on Muon’s eyelid. Muon will be in the hospital for one day to ensure a proper recovery.
Once she heals, Muon should be free of pain and will be able to open and close her right eye.
“I hope I can see better again,” shares Muon.
