Ankunda is a farmer from Uganda. She is a married mother of four, all of whom are studying in primary and secondary school levels. She and her husband currently earn their living from small-scale farming. But a large part of their income is consumed by their children’s school fees and loans.
For the past three years Ankunda has had an epigastric hernia. This causes her epigastric pain, nausea, and if not treated the hernia may result in intestinal tissue damage or death. Fortunately, on July 7th, she will undergo a hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $230 to fund Ankunda’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Ankunda shared, “I pray that my operation is supported and am hoping that it will go successfully. I am expecting relief from my symptoms and hoping to continue with farming after I have fully recovered.”
