Nhean is a mother of eight from Cambodia. She has three sons, five daughters, and five grandchildren.
One year ago, Nhean developed a cataract in each eye, causing her eye pain and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.

Nhean has returned home after a successful operation. As per her doctor’s instructions, she had one eye done, and will need to return in a few weeks to have surgery on the other eye. Surgery will allow her to work and go about her daily life with improved vision. Her doctor looks forward to seeing her again in a couple weeks.
She says, “I feel very happy that my eye can see clearly and now I can help my family do some housework, work at the farm, and I can go anywhere outside by myself again.”
