Reynaldo is a fisherman from the Philippines. He and his wife have three children, who now have families of their own. Due to his medical condition, Reynaldo is currently unable to work. He now spends most of his time doing light housework and looking for ways to stay occupied.
A year ago, Reynaldo was diagnosed with an indirect inguinal hernia on the right side. Reynaldo first began experiencing discomfort and pain in October 2024. Over time, he noticed a swelling that grew bigger. This affected his ability to fish and perform his other tasks.
Reynaldo visited our medical partner’s care center, Our Lady of Peace Hospital, to seek treatment. Fortunately, on July 9th, Reynaldo will undergo hernia repair surgery. A portion of the cost of Reynaldo’s treatment is being supported by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Our medical partner is raising the remaining $1,038 to cover the cost of his surgery and care. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Reynaldo says, “I am deeply thankful to everyone who is helping us in this time of need.”
