Kann is a grandmother of 25 grandchildren from Cambodia. She has a son and four daughters. She lives with her youngest daughter. She likes to listen to monks pray on the radio.
Two years ago, Kann developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her blurred vision, itchiness, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Kann learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for six hours seeking treatment. On May 1, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I hope my vision is much improved so I can easily do my work and go to the local pagoda on my own.”
