Tren is a 60-year-old woman from Cambodia who has seven sisters and five brothers. She enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio. She traveled three hours with her sister to reach Children’s Surgical Centre for treatment.
Tren developed a pteryigum in each eye one year ago. This causes blurred vision, burning, tearing, and irritation. She is unhappy with her appearance and it is difficult for her to see clearly and do work.
After a $150 pterygium excision surgery in each eye to remove the cysts, Tren will be able to see clearly again, without irritation, and she will be happy about the appearance of her eyes.
“I hope I am good looking and have a comfortable feeling without cysts so I can easily clean the grass around my home and go anywhere outside,” shared Tren.

Tren to treat a pterygium in her eye.
One year ago, 60-year-old Tren from Cambodia developed a pterygium in each eye. While the growths are benign, they have caused Tren headaches, burning, and tearing, and for this entire past year she has not been able to see clearly.
After Tren and her sister traveled four hours to the Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), she successfully received surgery to remove the pterygium growths in both of her eyes! The surgery was a success; she is in much less pain now and the tearing has completely stopped. With time, her symptoms will continue to lessen and her vision will continue to improve.
“I’m not worried about the cysts affecting my vision anymore,” shares Tren, “Now I feel comfortable and can see better than before.” “
