Mutumwa is a 71-year-old farmer from Uganda. She has eight children, all of whom are married and self-employed. Sadly, her husband passed away in 1994.
About a month ago, Mutumwa began experiencing sever abdominal pain, back pain, and abnormal bleeding.
Mutumwa was diagnosed with abnormal uterine bleeding and cervical dysplasia, the abnormal growth of cells on the surface of the cervix. Docots recommended a total abdominal hysterectomy, a procedure where surgeon’s will remove her uterus, to improve Mutumwa’s quality of life.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is requesting $219 to fund Mutumwa’s surgery. On June 8th, Mutumwa will undergo a total abdominal hysterectomy at our AMH’s care center. Once recovered, Mutumwa will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain.
Mutumwa says, “I will be very grateful when I am supported, and I will live better again as I resume farming.”
