Monny is a six-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives in Kandal Province with her parents and siblings. Her father is a car repairer and her mother sells snacks in front of a local factory. She is the middle child of three siblings and is currently studying in Grade 1. She enjoys playing dolls with her friends. Her favorite meal is Tom Yum soup, and she hopes to become a teacher in the future. For the past two months, Monny has been experiencing difficulty in breathing, snoring at night, sore throat, cough, and occasional vomiting. The symptoms affect her sleep quality and daily comfort. She experiences discomfort especially at night, which affects her energy and school activities Monny was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause her symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Monny, which is scheduled to take place on May 19th. Surgeons will remove her tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Monny of her symptoms and helping her live much more comfortably. Her mother said, “After the surgery, I hope my child will breathe and sleep better again, recover quickly, and be able to live happily and comfortably without pain or difficulty.”

Muhereza is a 31-year-old man from Uganda. He is married and a father of two, living with his family in a modest two-roomed mud house. Currently, Muhereza and his wife earn a living through small-scale farming to support their household. For five years, Muhereza has had a left inguinal hernia. He has endured persistent pain and swelling. The ongoing discomfort has progressively worsened. Muhereza's condition, which intensified during walking and sitting, significantly affects his daily activities and his ability to provide for his family. Fortunately, on February 10th, Muhereza will undergo a hernia repair surgery at our medical partner's care center, Uganda Martyr's Ibanda Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Muhereza's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably. Muhereza says, "I thank God for enabling me to come to Ibanda hospital to see the surgeon. I request the donor program's support for my surgery, as I currently lack financial means. Upon recovery, I am determined to resume farming and work diligently to support my family."

Roland is a 36-year-old father from the Philippines. He has been living with a fistula for about 15 years. Initially, his symptoms were sporadic and self-resolving. However, flare-ups have become frequent, occurring every two months for the past two years. These episodes cause pain, fatigue, and difficulty sitting, forcing Roland to adjust his daily routine. After Roland traveled to our medical partner's care center, World Surgical Foundation Philippines, surgery was recommended to relieve his symptoms. While this has brought Roland hope, the estimated cost remains beyond his financial capacity, leaving him reliant on antibiotics for temporary relief. Despite his condition, Roland continues to support his family by helping run their small clothing business and taking on electrical work on the side. His condition limits his ability to fully participate in work, leisure activities, and caring for his children. His family strongly believes surgery would restore his quality of life, reduce recurring medical expenses, and ease the financial strain. Fortunately, Roland is scheduled to receive surgery on March 20th at the World Surgical Foundation Philippines. Our medical partner, Our Lady of Peace Hospital, is requesting $1,198 to fund this treatment. Access to surgical treatment would allow Roland to regain comfort, resume normal activities, and provide more stability for his household. Roland shared, "I’m looking forward to playing basketball again without pain and being able to sit comfortably while spending time with my children."
