Mit is a vegetable farmer from Cambodia. She is married and has one son. She likes to listen to monks pray on the radio.
Two years ago, Mit developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision and irritation. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Mit learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On January 8, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
She says, “I want to help the monks cook at the pagoda and I want to read about buddha.”

Mit underwent cataract surgery.
Mit has returned home after a successful operation. Her vision has been restored, and she will be able to work and go about her daily life with improved vision.
She says, “I feel so happy that my eyes can see everything so much more clearly than before. Now, I can continue my work at the farm field, do any work at home, and can go to anywhere outside more easily than before.”
