Srey Neth is a 10-year-old girl from Cambodia who needs a quadriplasty to help her to walk.
A month ago, Srey Neth fell into a large hole near her house and damaged the muscles in her leg. She has been in severe pain ever since, but she lives in a rural area far away from quality medical care. Srey Neth says her knee is so stiff that she cannot bend it at all. Her school is a very difficult ten-minute walk from her house, and the walk leaves her in intense pain. If it’s not treated soon, Srey Neth’s injury could lead to life-long damage.
Srey Neth comes from a family of rice farmers. They live in an area of Cambodia where most people live on about $2 a day. She traveled 4 hours with her parents in hopes of getting medical care at CSC. She loves playing outside with her friends and wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
For $300, Children’s Surgical Centre can perform a quadriplasty, which will free some of the tissues in Srey Neth’s leg from under her bone and allow her to move it normally. We hope to see Srey Neth walking again soon!
