Danin is a 12-month-old baby from Cambodia. She lives with her older sister and parents in Phnom Penh. Her father works as a construction worker, while her mother stays home to care for the children. At home, Danin likes to eat rice porridge, and enjoys watching cartoons on her mom’s phone.
About a week ago, Danin developed an abscess on her right ear, which is a localized collection of pus within the tissues of the outer ear, typically caused by a bacterial infection. Her mother brought her to a hospital in Phnom Penh where medications were prescribed, but she continued to experience ear pain and swelling, accompanied by fever.
Danin and her mother traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On July 18th, surgeons at Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Danin’s family are able to contribute $100 towards the cost of her treatment and need help raising $173 more to fund the procedure.
Danin’s mother says: “My greatest wish is for my daughter to heal quickly, so she can find relief from her pain and discomfort.”
