Ry is a 78-year-old rice farmer from Cambodia. When she has free time at home, she enjoys listening to the monks pray on the radio.
One year ago, Ry developed a cataract in her left eye, causing her blurry vision. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Ry learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for four and a half hours ago seeking treatment. On March 17th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her left eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
“I hope that I will be able to recognize things clearly and can go outside again,” Ry shared.
