Elizabeth is a small-scale farmer and a mother of two children. Her husband also works on the farm, and they rent a single room for the family. Their firstborn child is 7-years-old and in the top junior class, while their second child is 5-years-old and in the middle junior class. During her free time, Elizabeth enjoys working on the farm.
Elizabeth is currently expecting her third child. She has received antenatal care at Rushoroza Hospital and her doctors recommended that she deliver via a cesarean section because of her previous delivery history. On November 30th, Elizabeth came to Rushoroza Hospital for assessment after feeling pains at home. She will need to undergo an elective C-section for doctors to ensure her safety and the baby’s safety. Without this procedure, there is a risk of uterine rupture, which can risk death for both mother and child.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMH), is helping Elizabeth undergo a C-Section. AMH is requesting $214 to cover the cost of Elizabeth’s procedure.
Elizabeth shared, “I pray for a successful surgery and a healthy baby. I will continue with farming for further development of my family.”
