Zebiba is almost one-year-old. She was born with a condition called anorectal malformation that prevents her from passing stool normally. Zebiba was diagnosed shortly after she was born, but her parents were unable to afford the necessary treatment, let alone the cost of traveling to a local hospital in Ethiopia.
Zebiba’s parents want the best for their daughter. Because they have been unable to afford the corrective surgery their daughter needs, her parents consider the prospect of funding through Watsi “a miracle.”
For $1500, Zebiba will receive reconstructive surgery to allow her to pass stool normally. This surgery will let Zebiba enjoy her childhood and will alleviate her parents’ worries.
