Marie is a 25-year-old woman who, like other young adults her age, has great ambitions. She wants to obtain her Masters in Accounting, advance in her career, marry, and have children. She has experienced some setbacks in her pursuit of these goals, however, due to symptoms caused by her illness.
Marie has a thymoma, a rare but curable cancerous tumor on her thymus, a small organ located in the upper chest. Marie’s thymoma causes her chest pains, shortness of breath, trouble sleeping, and difficulty with any sort of physical exertion. As a result of her condition, she lost her job as an accountant at a bank. She and her mother are naturally very worried about her condition, but say they draw on strength from each other as well as their faith.
Project Medishare has stepped in to help and would like to provide Marie with radiation therapy. For $1500, she can receive the treatment she needs to be pain free and resume normal activities – like going back to work and finishing school!
